We liked this place, the service is okay...nothing extraordinary or spectacular, but good. We had the standard fare, eggs, bacon, hash-browns and toast. Our eggs were cooked to perfection and the coffee was hot. If your looking for some quality time with your date and sitting at an nostalgic diner come here.

Before trying this out, I was told to NOT to eat here... I listened. Until this Morning.. And I defiantly regret it. Horrible breakfast. Horrible service... I'm not sure why my fiancé ordered the " charbroiled steak"... But it was the worst decision he could have ever made. Looks like the steak dollar tree began to sell a few months ago. HORRIBLE. No good... :/ ... At least not for breakfast.

Great little spot for breakfast on the south side of town. The Eggs Benedict is the best in area and made exactly like I like it. The grilled steak and eggs are good too. The steak is a bit fatty, but full of flavor. The home fried potatoes are good, but more peppers and onion need to get into the mix. Come on Sunday afternoon for a special treat when the "Shadow of the King" sings for you outside. Hard not to love this place! The service can be a bit slow sometimes as there never seem to be enough servers on during the busy periods. I've only had breakfast here so my ratings are based on that.

Went on a Saturday around 11am and we stood, ignored, for 15 minutes until someone acknowledged our presence and said they'd be right with us. 10 mins later or so we were sat... No drink order taken. 15 minutes or so later our drink order was taken. I should have known better, no one had food... It seemed we were all just sitting there being ignored. I called a waitress over and asked if we could order and she said she'd tell our server... But I watched as she never did. So about 15-20 later... After NO ONE checking on us, we left $5 for our drinks and walked out. Worst service I've ever had. No idea what the food is like.

This place was a nice find! My family enjoyed this place with standard diner fare. They let us sit outside with our dog which was fantastic. They even brought out a patty for the furbaby! I would easily go back again.

This is why starting using Yelp in the 1st place years ago, to find places like this when traveling. 50's style dinning with service! We walk in and I would guess owner comes up after we are seated and tells Kami, your in a yucky special seat! Kami don't know what to say! He goes on to tell her and build it up, and she gets ice cream because of the seat she pick! So ice cream for breakfast dessert. I read some of the not positive reviews before I came but still wanted to try it as a couple locals told me too. I'm 4 stars. It's what a 50's dinner is and I would go back. Service was on point and you could feel a great local home town family feel in the joint. Like everyone working with each had for many many years and it's a family. Go check this place out.

After 55 years on this earth, today was first time I have walked out before getting my food. My wife and I decided to stop off here before a movie, it was 11:00 and there was a few people there, nothing like being crowded. It took 15 minutes before someone came around to ask for our drink order and when she came back we ordered, after we ordered a couple came in ordered an appraiser and there meal, they received it shortly and then there, meals meanwhile my wife and I are still waiting for our meal, nothing elaborate steak and eggs and one egg with sausage. After 20 minutes still no food, we spoke to another server told her the problem and offered to pay for our drinks and left. I will not recommend this diner to anyone.

My family ate at Papa's on Wednesday, February 13, 2015. I thought the food was pretty good. I ordered the steak and scrambled eggs...it came with toast and country style potatoes. I liked it and would order it again but I'll admit it's not nearly as good as the chicken fried steak I got from Sunny D's in Huachuca City. My husband ordered the Rueben sandwhich and he thought it was ok. My son loved his burger and cheesy fries and my daughter ordered a grilled chicken ceasar salad and she liked it a lot. I give this place huge points for originality...I love the decor. I will go back and try the breakfast...also, our waitress was awesome! Great service! Don't let any negative reviews keep you from at least trying this place. You can't please everyone!

I love this place. When ever we are in Sierra Vista we always stop in for something even if it is just a late night milk shake.... oh great. Now I want to drive 300 miles to get a milkshake!

Great service, especially for a packed Sunday morning! Live Elvis impersonator was super fun! The food was great, and the owner treated my kids to little sundaes. Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area.

Worst service ever! No hostess so waitresses just ignore guests until you speak up. Then when you get seated, waitresses just ignore you again until you stop one. Our waitress then finally shows up and sits next to me on the bench seat and takes our order. It's been 20 min and still no food!! WILL NEVER COME BACK!!

Only 2 reviews and that is too bad because this place is worth the trip if you like a diner. Ambiance is 50's diner kitsch. Shiny surfaces, bold vinyl covers in the booths, Oldies playing in the background. Drove up on a Monday night, a number of cars in the parking lot, a good sign. Walk in the door and immediately greeted by the waitress/hostess and seated. Order a milkshake, it's a diner after all. Look at the menu, really good prices and selection. Breakfast all day on the breakfast menu. I decide on the chili, but they have 2 kinds. Here is where the rubber meets the road. I ask the waitress if I could try a sample of each to get an understanding of the flavor and heat. No problem, 2 minutes later I have an opportunity to try them. One is too hot, one too mild. Can I get half of each in a bowl, no problem. No I am not Sally in Harry meets Sally, but it was a testament to the customer service that they easily helped with the request. I order the onions rings as a side and they have a great crispy exterior, thick onion interior. No greasiness. The other person I was with ordered the evening special which was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans which he said was really good also. Why not five stars, well it is a diner not a michelin star rated restaurant. Owner came to the table and spoke with us. Excited to be the owner of a restaurant and very friendly.

This review is based on new management and the establishment used to be called The Diner. I've chowed down at this spot off-on for the past 8 years & it's had several changes in owners I guess. May last experience there was last week after they had been closed for several months for renovation & to allow the new owners to get things settled. First off, I was glad to see the decor had not changed even though the official name now is 'Papa's 50's Diner' so if this the wrong place I'll re-submit later. My kids think the place is 'cool' as they have grown-up & they love looking at all the memorabilia on the walls and naming things. I did notice the prices had gone up quite a bit but in today's economy I know everyone has to make a buck to make ends meet. The menu was slightly different but I went with my favorite 1/2 lb burger & fries. I had always ordered the meat 'medium' before & it would be slightly above medium rare which I love but this time the patty was on the verge of well done. I chalked it to new cooks and different timing so I'm not overly displeased but I will make a point to stress medium rare next time. The shakes are still wonderful and I rarely have room for any dessert. Service is still good & the waitress took care of us as expected. I'll try the place a few more times & update my review. They are also bringing back the traditional car shows the Diner of old would host for hot-rodders & cool cars sponsored by the Sierra Vista Car Club. I hope it's a hit and continues.

I love the atmosphere and the oldies are crankin! There is a hometown feel at this place. The food is alright and inexpensive-though I've only had breakfast here.

Sort of in the middle of nowhere, especially from the nearby base. Beyond the sort of random location that it's in, there really isn't anything that is bad about the place. They do a good job of channeling a diner, without over doing it. The milkshakes are the real deal with actual ice cream, no soft serve or machine here. If they made Sweet Tea with simple syrup instead of out of a machine, would be five stars.
